that's a really great photo Papawheely. I'd probably crop it a bit tighter and highlight the eyes a bit, but superb image on it's own. Lot's of character and general "bad-***-ness" in it

You've handled that difficult light well. I went to a Scottish-heritage school, love the sound of a pipe band. I think our band was the first Aussie band to play in the Tattoo, or maybe the first Aussie school band, it's been a few years :)

I just bought an entire studio lighting set-up so I can start doing portraits at my studio/gallery in Moab and have been spending every spare moment learning how to use them. I made this image on a recent hike in Zion NP with my son using an off-camera Canon 550EX flash triggered via Pocket Wizards, using the sun as a rim light. Sorry about geeking out there for a moment.

At any rate, Jackson's mischievous little smile melts my heart every time he breaks it out, which is often. Hope y'all enjoy the photo.
