Possible DIY offroad vehicle?

Lots of cars have front locking 'diff. Of course, usually in conjunction with a rear locker.
Anyway, Aside from affects steering somewhat, nothing wrong or impossible about a front locker.

Obviously not a true locker for a front wheel drive but there have been limited slips for them, several Hondas and Acuras, Mazdas, Minis, etc. For the intended purpose you'd think that would be sufficient.
