Possible to have a rtt sit flush with the roof (Tacoma) as well as a 270 degree awning mounted higher?

I just sold my truck camper and and switching to a RTT. I want to get back into a usable setup but am having a hard time finding what I’m picturing in my head. I want to copy my friends setup as far as tent and bed bars but I also want an Alu-Cab Shadow awning or similar 270 degree awning. I’d like the rtt to open up on the drivers side and the awning to go across the passenger and tailgate.

heres a pic I took of his setup. I’m thinking it’s not possible but I figured I’d ask anyway.
It’s important to me that the truck still fits in the garage when packed up

I don’t have a tent or bed bars ordered yet but I’d like to ASAP. Any help would be appreciated

Probably gonna be really tricky. The awning will interfere with the tent setup. Might be better to rock a pop up for a while, or raise the tent higher.

After a lot of thought I decided to try this RCI bed rack. They have an option of a awning rack and it was reasonably priced.

Unfortunately that also pushed me into the decision to try the Ikamper skycamp mini because of the way it tilts on one side. It will be close but I think it will clear. If not it will take less modifications that the other options I considered.

Nice.

That should fit well.

Drew I’m not sure the alu cab 270 will mount to that rack just something to think about before you purchase. Also height of the awning might be a little iffy mounted low enough to fit in a garage. My alu cab is mounted on load bars on top of my canopy any lower I wouldn’t like and I can’t get in my garage.

It’s okay if I can’t stand under the awning. But maybe there is. Way to make the awning height adjustable. I can picture it in my head but hard to describe.

Also I’m waiting to order the awning because I may run the camper flipped 180 on the rack so I’m not sure which side I want the awning to come off of

Probably depends on your height but having it a little lower shouldn’t be a deal breaker. If you go with alu cab 270 I would talk to rin at ok4wd about mounting to a rack like in the above picture. I’ll m pretty sure having a mounting point close to where the awning hinges from side to back is pretty important but I’m not going to pretend to be knowledgeable on the subject.

I love my 270 but with that rack and awning arms you might be forced to a more traditional style awning my vote would be the eezi awn swift or maybe the Darche 180. Given what you’re trying to do I think the ikamper mini is ideal.
