Here are a few recent pictures from last weeks successful navigation of the Colorado Backroad Discovery Route. We covered 700 offroad miles, after we included all the passes around Ouray, aside from Black Bear and Ophir.

700 miles offroad in one week? or one weekend? Either way, that's impressive in my eyes.

One week. The COBDR runs from Four Corners, NM to Savery, WY and the usual route covers 675 miles. We skipped Ophir Pass on the route in favor of Imogene Pass and then also did Engineer up and back to Animas Fork. Then continued on the BDR.

For 2017, the route had to detour since Taylor Pass is closed for construction, so we chose to go the route least traveled and traverse Hancock Pass instead of taking the Hwy50 detour.

It may not be exactly 700 miles, but the route covers every Summer terrain imaginable and is about 80% dirt/rock/sand/mud/silt, so I'd figure a better estimate would be around 560 miles of anything other than pavement.

The paved parts were short segments of roadway that connected different trails, but most were so short we didn't even air up.

You guys are so lucky to have that out West. We have virtually ZERO readily available trails around here, with the exception of the KAT which is about 1000 miles, but with more on road driving from site to site, and is a decent trip.

2003 Liberty base model, 3.5" OME lift, 32" Hankook RF10 ATM (LT235/85/16 E)
Auto, 3.73, NP242, and a rear LSD which still seems to work!
home made bumper, 8k winch
some skids purchased, some built myself
had the steps build by a local guy (before I learned how to weld...) - 2x5 square tube, 1" DOM and dimpled 16ga
Other stuff: CB, Viair 88P, some snatch blocks and straps, 2 front 4" LED floods, 22" rear light bar (combo spot/flood)

I still have to buzz on the front D-rings, finish my roof rack, rear bumper with swing out and jerry can.

We mostly overland, but I do a couple trails a year with other local wheelers also (Ottawa, Canada).

No time, as we were running a day late. I was converting to disc brakes in the rear the day before leaving and hit a snag. After waiting an extra night for parts, I was able to get what I needed and finish the job. - I drovebit around the block and then we packed up and hit the road.

I get a ton of questions on the JK and Aluab on my IG account. So I'll create a build thread tomorrow, but for now here are a few pics.
