That is an amazing build. I hope you can get the import sorted out, I'm feeling your pain.

Else, I am sure you could easily find a willing buyer and start another project.

Thank you WG_moots! I hope that would be the case at the end...However, I fully accept the fact that I will never get my investment back. Was building it for myself and did not spare on it. Would you think US $65K is something realistic when it comes to pricing it? I have placed it in "For Sale by Expo members" section of this forum. Did not want to scare people away but can't really support bigger financial loss than that

That my friend, is one fantastic looking build. Wow!!!!!!!! I'm envious! Hope the import works out for you!

Thanks Victory_Overland, I tried pretty much everything to import it without spending another fortune but it simply doesn't work...But thanks anyway for the words of encouragement.

I think because they have adopted US safety and EPA standards is what I was told but a local expat. I also think RHD is illegal but I could be wrong. I wanted to buy a defender for our house down their but they stopped selling them in 2009 due to the new regulations.

That really sucks. What year is it? I think here in Hawaii anything goes at 25 years old and we register as a hot rod so import rules are okay. Mainland I'm not too sure but I am willing to bet there has to be at least one great state that you could get it into.......guess you're right though, EPA Nazis are federal so they keep all the good things down.

I saw that text of $65k USD for your rig. I think that is low in my opinion but I guess that is where you sell it. For sure you can get that in the US if it was legal but I can't imagine there is not someone in Canada not willing to pay that for such turnkey overland vehicle.

Thanks Victory_Overland, I tried pretty much everything to import it without spending another fortune but it simply doesn't work...But thanks anyway for the words of encouragement.

Our family

Hi all this is our first post
We have 3 series 1 discos and a 6x6 perentie
2 of the discos have been fully rebuilt and are prepped for outback travel and the perentie is being converted into a overlanding expedition vehicle. We will take it around the world one day.
The 2 outback vehicles have been along the Canning stock route, all of the gunbarrel and other Len Beadell hwys (to many to list). Also completed the Talawana track plus a lot of general trips around Western Australia.
All of which doesn't mean much if you are not from Australia, probably suffice to say they are somewhat rough, off road, remote (in Australian terms) and of a reasonable length.
That's to say we love our rovers and use them to our (the drivers), not the vehicles full capability.
