I like it. I take it you had a good trip?

Thanks! Very much so - I'm putting off clean up right now though. lol! Truck needs to get unpacked. I guess I'll mosey out to the garage and start. We'll have to do a trip out there, I'm already thinking about the next one. Probably just to Brigg's Camp in the summer.

I figured I'd finally post a picture of my Monty.
89' Gen 1 LWB
Bought for way to much with 174,000 in november
but it does have the timing belt just done and head and oil pan gaskets.
Now has 180,000 with very minimal trouble, $112 oil cooler hose and $34 autohub cap -.-
but i am still very happy with it. Its a basic workhorse that will soon be my expo-vehicle. :sombrero:

Also wanna point out is it just me or are manufactures these days losing their passion for automobiles?
Don't get me wrong I really respect the gen III and wouldnt mind one myself but it feels like a lack of passion in its design

Nice Gen I.

As an owner of a Gen III and a previous owner of a Gen II, I agree. I really like some of the things they did with the Gen III (engine and transmission, especially the 5-speed tiptronic). But, the departure angle and solid rear axle are what's missing from the Gen III. Plus, I wish they'd kept the boxier looks of the older ones too.

I really envy the features and line up of the Gen III compared to the gen I, I actually kicked myself a bit because I found a gen III for $3000 right after I bought my gen I. I love the gen I but I do miss some of the comforts of "modern cars".
