THat's pretty impressive. Do you have a shot of the passenger side while in that position? And what about nose first up the ramp?

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...

Don't have one with front first, I took these pics when I was measuring for shocks and towers. I will say that it leans a lot more but keeps them on the ground. Someone's got pics of it crossed up on it's final outing before I started stripping it for the SAS. It can flex out fully and tuck fully without bottoming out or fully extending the shock, lands on the bumpstops with an inch to spare and I've got no lift so even at full flex the driveshaft is at a safe angle. I've also got spring retainers to keep the springs from falling out.

I recommend using a legit ramp at your local 4x4 shop, my friend (a jeep guy) let me use his and it was pretty redneck. I didn't feel safe at all crawling under the truck up on the ramp like that but it got the job done and his neighbors seemed pretty accustomed to that kind of stuff going on in the street.

Wait, no lift at all? What size tires are you running and did you roll the fenders?

^^ I think it has a modest body lift, and the wheels are the proper offset so they miss everything

That cactus in the background is so cool,I'd give a nut to have one of them in my garden

Jeep-N-Montero, No suspension lift, just a 2" bodylift and rolled fenders and the tires are 35x13.5 and they don't rub. I've gone through a bunch of different suspension lifts but i keep finding myself going back to stock height, i may lift a bit again for 37's but maybe not since i'll switch to 37x12.5.

NWoods, I didn't need limit straps with this truck, the trailing arm rubber wads up before running out of shocks. My old '94 however needed to be limited as it would flex far enough to hit the caliper on the frame and snap off the brake fitting. The amount of stuff was about the same between both trucks but the '94 had more flex so the tucked side would be at more of an angle putting the caliper in a bad spot.

Although it's nothing a family sedan can't drive through it sure is pretty, did you go all the way through to Victor/Cripple Creek and have brunch at one of the casinos? Next time you are up there make sure you hit some of the trails that go up to Baldy and the back side of Pikes Peak.

I've driven all over the roads through there for the past 4 years, but this was the first time I took the Montero out and wanted to make sure everything was running smoothly before trying any trickier routes. The gearing in the Gen 2.5 is terrible, I wasn't even really able to engine brake coming back down in 2H. The forest service has blocked off nearly all of the fun trails with giant boulders, but I was able to find a couple of hairy trails and tested out the lockers. This is our winter beater and I didn't pay much for it, so I'm glad everything is working the way it's supposed to, hopefully it lasts through the winter so I can do all the major stuff next spring.

I find that if you put the gear selector in "L" (P,R,N,D,2,L) thats the only way to get engine braking. But the 4.29 gears are not great, it is a fair bit of work, but if you can find an SR you can pull out and swap into 4.63 gears. You can also find Sports with 4.90 gears.

Which trails have they blocked off? Seems ever since the Broadmoor hotel started buying up land and building crap all over that things are changing.
