Don't have one with front first, I took these pics when I was measuring for shocks and towers. I will say that it leans a lot more but keeps them on the ground. Someone's got pics of it crossed up on it's final outing before I started stripping it for the SAS. It can flex out fully and tuck fully without bottoming out or fully extending the shock, lands on the bumpstops with an inch to spare and I've got no lift so even at full flex the driveshaft is at a safe angle. I've also got spring retainers to keep the springs from falling out.
I recommend using a legit ramp at your local 4x4 shop, my friend (a jeep guy) let me use his and it was pretty redneck. I didn't feel safe at all crawling under the truck up on the ramp like that but it got the job done and his neighbors seemed pretty accustomed to that kind of stuff going on in the street.
Finally had a chance to take my 98' monty off the beaten path yesterday. Old Stage Road in Colorado Springs, CO.

The gearing in the Gen 2.5 is terrible, I wasn't even really able to engine brake coming back down in 2H.
I've driven all over the roads through there for the past 4 years, but this was the first time I took the Montero out and wanted to make sure everything was running smoothly before trying any trickier routes. The gearing in the Gen 2.5 is terrible, I wasn't even really able to engine brake coming back down in 2H. The forest service has blocked off nearly all of the fun trails with giant boulders, but I was able to find a couple of hairy trails and tested out the lockers. This is our winter beater and I didn't pay much for it, so I'm glad everything is working the way it's supposed to, hopefully it lasts through the winter so I can do all the major stuff next spring.
