May be stock but at least it looks like you're using it right. I wish there were more places around here to do some wheeling. Even if very light!

That's why we bought it. That was an interesting trip...Wasn't sure we were going to make it back out. One of those "we should have turned around sooner" types of things. Idaho backroads in early June can still be very messy.

Mine's an '02 XLS, but it's a 2WD and as such is stock as can be. It's been the family truckster for the last 8+ years, with only a couple minor hiccups at the very beginning, and those were covered under warranty.

Great cars- I just wish we'd ponied up for the 4WD at the beginning.

They're stock size. Next tires I buy I might go up to 31" which I think can be run without a lift.

Actually you can bump up to 265's (32") with no lift. There are plenty of guys over on monterosportonline.com that run them with no problem. I think I'll crank my torsion bars a bit when I go to 265's though just to give it a more balanced look. This is actually the reason that I decided to buy the truck. I wanted to be able to run a decent size tire with zero to minimal lift.

Good to know. Thanks.

Here is a pic FROM a Montero Sport (on a mountain road north of Kathmandu):

General AT2's. I wanted to run 235-85's but I got a deal on some 265-75's.

Hmm 235/85 seems like a pretty narrow tire to run on the Montero Sport. The 265's look great though. That's the size I plan on running. Have you had any issues with them rubbing anywhere? Any other thoughts on them?
