Do you have a trip report? or planning to do one? I am considering heading to Maine next summer for a week. Great looking Xterra!

I never really though about doing one. It was only a two day trip within a larger 10 day vacation up to that area. I didn't really take any notes of the trip, not that I really needed to. I am planning on doing a longer trip up there this summer. I will surely take more pics and document it thoroughly. Not sure what type of trip your planning, but you could always join the group.

Is there a planning thread ? We like to mix up some mild offroading with exploring/historical stuff and hiking

My tent. A Kelty Acadia 4. I'm really liking this tent so far.

And here is the back of the xterra before I got a rear bumper with tire and jerry can holders.
I'm working on building an interior rack to address the mess.

I'll have to remember to snap campsite photos. Never think of it while I'm camping.

Here are a couple shots from my last Death Valley trip in March 2013. I also have a Defender 90, but prefer the Nissan for long trips like this one, almost a thousand miles one way just to get there.
The first was taken at a very nice camp spot in Hidden Valley, with the sun just setting behind us, and the moon just coming up over Hidden Valley.
The second shot shows the mounting of the tent on the bed rails, taken just before our Lippincott descent.

I wasn't doing much with the long Thanksgiving weekend, so I packed up the X and headed out for some camping.
I went to a place called Blue Jay campground near lake Elsinore in southern California. This is a 51 site campground with designated spots and vault toilets. Not super remote or rugged, but for a last minute deal it wasn't so bad. One thing that was a interesting and a bit scary, was I was the only person there from about 1pm till about 8pm Saturday evening. A buddy was suppose to meet me around 4pm, but got held up at work. It's an eerie feeling to be all alone and just listen to the wind and animals make noise. Something I've never really done.

Anyways, this thread is about pics. So, here are some pics.

A chair and a fire ring. If any of you Nissan guys are bigger dudes like me, that is a Coleman suspension chair and it is available at Wal-Mart for around $50. It has a high weight rating and is very comfortable. One of those types of chairs you don't want to get out of. I love it. Quite bulky to pack, but would go nicely on a roof rack.

And finally, my small fire. I had a heck of a time getting it to start. Lots of smoke, but no flame. I finally just ended up throwing a match into the coals and that seemed to do the trick.
