I also have the cordura seat covers with molle webbing on the back and that works well, but I also have some molle pouches on things like the glove box, center console and even the door for easy access to certain items.

I have a shelf-it installed. Mounts to the sun visor mounts and the sun visors relocate onto the bottom of the shelf. I love it.

do your visors work the same as when they were installed before the shelf it?

Yes but I made covers for the retainer clips for the headliner using kydex and then modified the visor retainer clips to fit for mount to the aluminum shelf. So as from the manufacture not really, but it isn't hard to modify to make it work well.

The kydex pieces are simple cutouts with the edges knocked down on the bench grinder. The visor clips have a peg and mount on the back of them, so those were knocked down on the grinder as well so they would fit flush against the aluminum shelf. Quick work with a drill and screw and it's done.


The shelf doesn't bow down like that in real life, it's an artifact from the really bad cellphone pano shot, just like my dash doesn't curve like that either.

Right now the shelf holds random things, I'm planning on mounting the dual band and CB units up there in the next couple of months, waiting until after I finish the roof rack build so I have something to mount the antennas to.

The build quality is sort of meh on the shelf, but it's adaptable. I only had to push and pull on it a little to get it to fit right.

I use the seat covers like Rocket Box has on the passenger seat but with it turned around the other direction.
Works great of traveling by myself. I can reach all the small items needed.

some outfitters (511 - i think) offer police shift/ duty bags that sit on the front seat and are held by the lapbelt. for solo travel, that might work.
