Power seat question

Does anybody know if Gen 2's ever came with power seats? Reason I ask: We have a 97 LS and a 98 gen 2.5 winter edition. The LS is my wife's DD, and is the one we're planning on selling next year when we transfer.

I don't like the power drivers seat in my gen2.5...too slow, more likely to have problems, and the seat back won't tilt all the way forward against the steering wheel like the manual seats do. This gets in the way of our sleeping platform.

I'd like to swap the driver power seat base from my 2.5 over the the wife's gen2, and bring the manual adjust base from her LS over to my 98...this way I get the simplicity and full adjustment but keep the leather and heated seat. (And the potential buyer of the LS gets to read "power seat" in the CL ad )

I know sometimes the OEM will include all the plugs for rich guy options (like power seats) even in the models that don't come with said options standard. Anybody know if this is the case with Gen2 LS models? I can't see any plugs but they may be hidden under the carpet. However, I don't wanna pull the whole seat just to find out there's nothing there to plug into...

Cheerz,

Ed

I was going to swap my power seats from my 95sr to my 98 ls that has manual but it didn't have the connector. Maybe yours is different though. Also the seats are different so you would have to swap the whole thing and not just the bases if I remember correctly.

Ah. That sucks. Her LS is tan cloth and my 98 is grey "leather", so that wouldn't match. Oh well...probably just have to keep my eyes peeled for a gen 2.5 with manual seats getting parted out...

Thanks for the heads-up!

Manual and power seat bases and foam don't swap. You will need to change the entire seat.

I posted a few videos comparing seats from man gen 2 to auto gen 2.5. Am mobile and can't find link now, but look at my thread regarding bouncy seats

*edit, fee videos to few videos
