powering 12v fridge

I LOVE this.

I charge it via Anderson Plug-to-12v Cig and plug it into my 4runner cig port in the back, while I am driving. Then 100 watt flexible solar panel when camped. Even without solar I can easily get 3-4 days without charging it at all. This is with my Dometic CFX3 55IM, which is very efficient. Even in the hot summer it rarely pulls over 1 amp per hour if full.

It comes with brackets to fasten it to my drawers in the unused space next to my fridge.

If you're going to haul a power station use it. My Engle and my Bluetti live under the tonneau over the truck bed. I added an Anderson panel mount to the truck bed powered through an ignition switched relay in the engine compartment. The power station gets charged when the truck is running and won't pull down the starter battery when it's not. The fridge is plugged into the power station, and will run for several days when the station is fully charged. I never have to move my fridge plug.
That’s basically what I’ve always done … why do anything else? If your power station runs down, drive or use solar to charge it. I have a portable solar panel which I do use if I’m engine-off for more than a few days. Though parking in the shade reduces power draw by the fridge, so if you need solar, make sure you have a long cable.

I use a Jackery 500 to run an Engle 43 in the Jeep. The Jeep keeps the Jackery charged up when running and I disconnect the 12 volt charging source from the Jeep at night with a switch. I also have the fridge covered with a insulated jacket which helps.

I run a 100ah Odyssey battery (part # ODX-AGM31M) in the stock location with 6 gauge wiring into a breaker then through the firewall into a fuse block that provides continuous power to my 65L dual zone Dometic fridge. 2 full days of run time without starting the truck, with the freezer set to 10F in 80+ degree summer temps is typical.

At the time of purchase this setup was far more economical than any external power supply or solar system. Here in northwest washington most of our campgrounds & wilderness is heavily wooded, so solar efficiency isn't great, although I do plan to supplement with 200 watts of solar on the roof to extend run time.
