Prepping the Jeep for this summer. Need advice.

I have a 2008 Wrangler JKU. It's got just over 45,000 miles on it. It's due for an oil change soon and I'd like to change out some of the other fluids.

I just want to make sure I'm doing the right things. I got transfer case, transmission, and front and rear diffs. I had the diffs done about 1000 miles after I got them regeared. And it's been about a year since I last did them. I thought I read somewhere that you don't have to do them again for awhile. But wasn't sure.

Any suggestions and what I should do? What do you guys do to prepare for the coming camping season or trail riding season?

Thanks

I think you've got the fluids covered. Air filter maybe? If you've upgraded your control arms and/or trackbars, do the joints require maintenance? For example, my Rock Krawler joints need to be oiled regularly.

Air filter is fine. Guess I'm more concerned about the fluids.

I have a Rock Krawler lift kit myself, I'll look into the oiling of the joints and what not.

If you have a manual transmission, from what I understand (ie look into this) the fluids are good for life. My buddy changed his (at a dealer) only to read the manual afterwards. I'd have a look into that first. I change my dif fluids every fall.

The manuals shift way better after a oil change using either Royal Purple Syncromax or similar. Mine was so much smoother after the change. I think the factory fluid is a little thick or thickens up over time.

Sounds like you've got it covered. You're right about the diffs, just inspect the fluid. If its milky at all change it out.
