ATLAS - 2001 GMC 2500 HD SAS’d w/custom aluminum flatbed 2016 4WC Grandby for Sale $72,650
Located just outside Denver, CO the rig started out as a 2001 GMC Sierra Crew Cab Long Bed 2500HD, 6.0L, 4L80e, Manual Shift NP263. A custom aluminum flatbed was added in 2018 by Anvil Rod & Customs with tons of storage, VLAIR air compressor and tank with remote chucks to fill tires, winterizing, etc. which also works great to balance the camper from side to side when camping. On top of the flatbed is a 2016 4WC Grandby flatbed pop up camper in really good condition with a few dings and scratches from being used.
The Truck
The truck is SAS’d with a CAD designed front suspension utilizing custom made arms that are of a radius arm design, it uses 3” Summit Machine uni-balls at the frame end and 1.5” Summit Machine joints where the upper arms meet the lower arms. The arms mount to ¼” thick skid plate that also doubles as the transmission/t-case mount. All the pieces were laser cut and bent. The fabrication is very nice, and most people don’t notice the truck has a solid front axle.

On top of the flatbed is a 2016 4WC Grandby flatbed pop up camper in really good condition with a few dings and scratches from being used. We bought the camper used in VA (thanks Zach!). It had been used it for a one-year trip around the country with his wife and 1 year old son.
The truck has 173k+/- miles on it and everything functions and works the way it should with a few dings and scratches from being used as intended. There are no check engine lights on, almost all the factory exhaust has been retained (only the cross over pipe from the driver’s side has been changed to clear the driveshaft). Zero rust on this truck anywhere. A/C blows ice cold and the heat will make you sweat on those cold days. The interior of the truck came from GM with vinyl flooring for easy cleaning, manual windows with new regulators, and manual cloth seats all in great shape. I added some graphics which didn’t go on like I hoped, so they look better from a distance. It’s an easy fix for $30 and some patience (and less wind) putting them on (I took them off recently but they show in the pics). An Iron Bull steel front bumper was added with a 12,500lb warn winch with synthetic cable.
Everything has been well maintained and everything works, I have receipts for most stuff, a complete build sheet and cut sheets (excluding the flatbed), manuals, etc. for the entire rig. I wouldn’t hesitate to take this truck anywhere. It’s been through severe storms in Missouri, high winds in Kansas, camped in mid-teens weather and stayed toasty warm and dry. It’s great on the highway, county roads and offroad with the one of the best times being on the TAT where people were shocked that we were on the trail (it’s narrow in some places). We have used it mainly around the Rockies and driven it cross country a few times over the past five years but just aren’t using it as much as we had hoped because of life in general. It will be a great rig for someone who can use it more often.
