So as the title suggests... I got som e new treads for the 4Runner. And WOW do they make this truck LOOK com plete from the outside now!!!!

I went with 33X10.50;'s in the Flavor of BFG AT's. Almost went with the KM II's but in the end I figure that most of my driving is honestly on road adn that I really want good ride quality first and fore most and good wear/longevity also. The AT KO's are pretty damn good in everything but deep mud and while it's something that is nearly unavoidable here in the NW I'm not a mud bogger. All in all I'm pretty stoked. now I just need to get my 4.88's paid for so I can go back to using tose top 2 gears in my tranny with some regularity ;) 5th and even a ild hill is just a no go...

So here's what she looked like not long after I bought her.

31's were a bit small for my taste but clearly they were still fun eh ;)

Then came the OME Dakar/Bj spacer lift and after that, well the 31's just looked like ... Well they looked funny and awfully small in those big wheel wells.

Again, the little monsters didn't prevent me from getting out and enjoying that sweet OME love I had installed out back. God I love this truck...

SOOOOO I longed after a set of 33x10.50's and went back and forth on the brand(Dean XST MT, BFG MT KM1/KM2, Hankook RT03, Maxxis Big-horn - I still want a set of these- and were 267 a tire or somethinfeven the Toyo OC at's that iI had NO love for but they kept trying tpush on me cause theyand wether to step up to a 16" rim to run the official Expo size tire of 255/85 ;) but in the end I went with the BFG's. i really think they offer the best traction combination capabilities among their peers and I'm very please'd with them after a whoping 1DAY!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I'm running....

I've always run BFG A/T's on every 4wheeler I have ever owned, & never had any problems with them, never a flat, never got stuck, good mileage. I put 285/70/17 A/T's on my FJ & got a year out of them. Great tire. This time I had the cash & wanted to go a little more aggressive & loved the new KM2 tread pattern. I have only been in the woods a few times with them so far, but WOW!!! what a difference. It's been raining the past 22 out of 30 days here & everything is quite soft in the woods. I have the most confidence I've ever had with a tire. I just hope I get decent mileage out of them. If your looking for a great woods tire, give the KM2's a good look. This is just my opinion.
Sorry, I finished reading your post & read that you went with the A/T's. I thought you were still looking.

Haven't had a single problem with my BFG KO's. Great tire. Only slight negative is wet traction isn't that great.

Nice looking rig, I've been thinking about 33x10.5's myself. Got a few more pics for a fellow 1st gen owner?

No worries man, I'm really thinking of getting a set of KM2's on my second set of rims. The KM2 is a great tire from what I've heard and seen. Glad you like your's adn I can't wait to get ANOTHER set of shoes for the beast...

4Rescue- Your 4Runner looks great. I liked it in the before shots...
But the after shots look even better.

I'm used to 31" tires, so your 33" look big :)

I have the same roof rack....a good unit.

Have fun with that nice 4Runner!
