I have decided to outfit my 2005 Chevy Silverado Duramax 3500HD long bed crew cab with a contractors utility cap as my base. My boys and I are beginning to plan some expeditions to some beginner areas in Colorado, Texas and more. We are avid hunters and ATV riders so I need to be able to pull an ATV trailer. For this reason I did not consider any trailer setups.
Bought:
Knapheide contractors metal cap with 4 side doors and horizontal rear door (will order a set of "barn doors" for the rear soon).
New Nitto Terra Grapplers (pics show old 20" with Mud Grapplers)
Cognito leveling kit, control arms and necessary braces/supports
New pitman and tie rods
Bilstein re-valved shocks
Bear Claw front and rear bumpers with 4 front and 2 rear lights.
Bushwacker fender flares
N-Fab 6 step bars
New dual batteries

Paint camper to match truck or Line-x ($$$)
Arb Simpson III or similar roof top tent with aux changing room
Commercial ladder rack converted to use for RTT and a basket over the cab area
Mount rear bumper
Line-x lower rockers and body
Organize side cabinets with tools, recovery and camping gear
Hookup front and rear aux bumper lighting
Convert rear cab bed light for use inside the camper
Add upper lighting to rear of camper
Add onboard air compressor
Add train horns
Relocated dual batteries to rear?
Add second alternator?
Add ample power to support small fridge, chargers, spot lights, etc. to camper area
