Project Face Off: 1953 Willys Wagon on a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Frame Restomod

Yep, I have a TJR I need to find a new body for.... I'm thinking CJ6 or CJ8 for an overlander.
You may want to check out Willys Wagon body. Here's why, they are relatively inexpensive and have tons of interior space. If your plan was to use only the front two seats then you can use the rest of the vehicle for your living space. The height of the interior cab is unusually high for the pre-1960 vehicles so you can nearly build out an apartment inside of it. Food for thought.

Take care,

Good donor choice. I have seen this done before with very good results. Enjoy the experience, take your time and always be planning ahead. Best of luck.
BTW, I swapped a '55 Willys wagon body onto a heavily modified '79 Cherokee Chief chassis and running gear. The hard part was getting the body and frame mated to were they looked made for each other.

That sounds awesome. Do you still have it? Did you document the build anywhere?

Thanks,

I finally got around to editing video for Episode #8. In this episode I finish up with the steering linkage so that I can actually steer the vehicle with the steering wheel......what a novelty.
