Drool..Drool...Drool....

Oh MY! Now that is COOL!
I wonder if one that size could be made to work off the older platforms like my CJ8 Scrambler? Speaking of that...I will be bringing it to Germany with me so maybe one day we will all bump into each other??
I have been wandering around on the military jeepers site and have already found a good number of fellow jeepers stationed there..Gotta love "networking" LOL!

ok, finally:

temps still low, but at least no rain. so i went out to a nearby green spot to take some pics - only poser shots, but better than nothing:

So I see you got your #2 spare! I just picked up a second rim. I have never needed a second spare but I have always thought that the day I needed one I will be very sorry i don't have one & I'll be thinking of you:sombrero:. I guess I could carry a patch kit, but a second spare seems easier. Well i must say the new rig still doesn't look as cool as rig #1. Nice spot for the Hella Sticker tho.
I must say the unit looks good no matter what. But you need to move back to the USA and buy another XJ.....really!:coffeedrink:

thx!!!
there was a time when i only had one spare. a flat that was unreparable and then no spare left hundrets of miles of a place where you could get on...
that's why i now carry 2 + a fix kit...

I once got a flat way out in the middle of nowhere on a highway, but my lug nuts were on so tight I had to flag down a farmer and borrow a piece of pipe for a breaker bar. Then once I got the spare put on the air in it was pretty low, and before I could make it into town the spare went flat. I hitch hiked into town and called my dad to come rescue me.

at least you were close enough to hike to town...
if you're in desert heat 400 miles from anywhere - it becomes a different story. that's why i carry 2.

funny thing is: i never had a flat ever since :) but that's alright by me!

trust me: if i move back to the states there will be another XJ
still a bit different than the one i had...

Just opened up my new Off-Road Adventures magazine :coffee: to find a pictures of Project XXX and the family. Looks like the picture might be a little bit old, still looks good though.

i take off the roofrack if we don't need it to save some money on fuel. the wiring for the lights have always been something that bothered me...
now i installed a solution that makes it measier and cleaner:

here just a couple of pics:
IMGP3083.jpg

it's important to make the top of the plug waterproof. i made a rubber lid and siliconed it.
IMGP3086.jpg

of course i ran the split loom all the way to the plug.
the plug and socket are greased well to protect from water.

Sweet idea I think but, Sven I need more pics. I probably wouldn't bother to remove my rack but I am curious how this all works.:sombrero:

more pics as usual on my site :))))
here they are:
i drilled the holes as required. i have enough space for the cables below the panel.
IMGP3081.jpg

i mounted all the relays close to the battery and then ran the wires right from the engine bay under the panel:
IMGP3084.jpg

and you already konw from the pics above what the socket looks like when no rack is on and what it looks like with the plug plugged in... ;-)
that's about it...
