proper method to store Coleman Dual Fuel stove

Indeed you should drain the fuel from the tank. You can use a few feet of small plastic tubing, such as that used in a fish tank, to siphon it all out. Keep the filler cap off for a day or two to allow to dry. The re-install the cap, pressurize the tank and turn the valve open to push the fuel out of the valve assembly.

As far as cleaning the generator you can visit www.oldtowncoleman.com for rebuilding instructions.

Great site! I'm assuming by your site and username that you used to run the oldtownyucca site. I really enjoyed your site over the years and am excited to hear about oldtowncoleman. Thanks for chiming in.

I've recommended your site a handful of times over the years including here on ExPo:

Coleman Fuel Stove

Currently the tank is partially filled with white gas. Would it be okay to store it like this for months-long duration?

I've heard about the seals in the stoves generator deteriorating overtime and I don't want to contribute to it by storing it improperly.

I have one of these that is about 20 years old, I only use it during the summer when I go out camping. In the winter it just sits in the garage with fuel still in the tank, the next summer I pull it out, pump up the fuel tank and it works every time. Before I store it I bleed off the pressure but that’s all.

I really like the Coleman Fuel products, I have a couple lanterns and small stoves too.

Just bought my 1st dual fuel last november. Thought it was awesome till the thing wouldn't light when it was -5 degrees, at 11PM, and I was freezing camping in the snow. But hey- I learned that bringing an all steel pan is clutch when you need to cook ON the fire. FYI

what was the symptom?

I had trouble keeping it lit when it was 20 outside.. I figured out that it had pump it many times more than at higher temp.
