Pulling the trigger on an 05 LR3 HSE- things to look for?

These are still made in other parts of the world, just not the US. I suspect these are well within the date tolerances.

Luke at the rover shop is doing a prepurchase inspection on the LR3 tomorrow. It looks brand new and has an impeccable service history. 55K miles. There are a few issues such as boot latch and it needs the suspension compressor dryer and seals rebuilt.

What other typical fixes do I need to consider on this LR3?

The PPI should pickup any maintenance issues coming up (Lower control arms, Brakes)

You will probably want to replace the air compressor relay and replace the plastic coolant "T" for the throttle body before it breaks.

Might need a thermostat eventually, or an alternator - but for the most part, just sit back and drive :)

Well it would be easy to check. They will have a DOT code moulded into the sidewall of the tyre. It will give the year and month the tyre was manufactured.

Air Compressor
Front Upper & Lower Arms (Use poly bush only) **** check all bushings if not already replaced. They will all go.
Electronic Parking Break
Sway Bar Bush
Front Diff (Possibly Rear Diff) Check fluid in both. The motor can also go bad.
Alternator
Ride Height Sensors

These are the main issues and you really want to make sure you cover these, if not, once you hit 60-70k you'll be spending $$$$.

I just did...

Well I had a long chat with luke today at the safari. Looks like it needs a new compressor, tranny service and bushing, rear latch fix, front dif was almost dry and was starting to whir. This lr3 needs almost 3 grand to get it sorted. All common stuff but really wasn't looking for coming out of pocket that much. We'll see if the seller will come down on price.
