QT Wildcat rally vehicle

QT is a British company that sells a custom rally vehicle called the Wildcat. It uses Land Rover suspension bits, and drivetrain parts from Land Rover and Jaguar.

The Wildcat is street-legal in Britain, and capable of high placement in rally-raid competition. A Wildcat finished in 3rd place in the 2009/2010 Africa EcoRace, and in 19th place in the 2010 Dakar.

The Wildcat was developed by Bowler Offroad, and then sold to QT for production. QT offers vehicles and spare parts to customers world-wide.

To be correct.... as Dave Marsh (Qt's MD) is a good friend of mine, he negociated a deal with Drew Bowler to buy the rights to the 'Wildcat' model after Drew developed their new model the 'Nemasis'. Qt had already a very sucessful trials vehicle & the 'Wildcat' was an obvious choice to expend his business into the rally/raid world. Why design your own when you can buy a ready made & very sucessful project..... very smart move

Since taking over the project Qt have redeveloped areas of the vehicle and are now providing factory support for a number of teams around the globe. As already noted the 'Wildcat' is the most sucessful privateer vehicle in the Dakar and solid axles are reliable & cost effective for teams on a budget.

Agreed, solid axles are the strong and economical way to go, that's why I stuck with it on my Celica build. I don't have the budget to support a big rally effort either, so I can certainly see the vision of sticking with simplicity and brute strength for such endurance style races. I like it...

www.lucky8llc.com actually lists them in the US, but not sure if it's just a joke or what. Has he ever sold one? Could they even be imported for road use?

Starting price in the UK is £25.000 + (second hand) ....

I've been in one with a TVR Rover 4.0 V8 engine, means nothing to you I guess, TVR used to make great sports cars, anyway this thing had around 300bhp and went bloody well... off road of course, found myself thinking ... build one with roof tent and modify the rear ( where the spares wheels are kept) into storage and kitchen....

Would be a very expensive project and offer very little space, but my god what a great toy...
