Question about adding a winch...

I am starting to build a camping/expedition rig that is also an everyday driver. I live in an older house with a garage that accomodates my truck (2011 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab) with very little room to spare. My question is - are there bumpers or winch bumpers that add either no or very little to the original bumper? I would very much like to add a winch or at least a bar for lights. Since this pic I have added a canopy/bed rug/Line-X along the rocker panels & fender flares.

Thanks much in advance -- LOVING this forum & looking forward to the NW Rally!!!

We offer our Trans4mer mounting system for the 2011 Tacoma. The system allows you to just buy the center section if you'd like (no brush guards, etc. if you don't want them). This should only add a few inches to the front of the vehicle.

I don't have a picture of one on a 2011, but here's the Trans4mer on a 2007 Tacoma:

Use a cradle mounted receiver hitch winch? I am not sure who makes a front bumper with a receiver hitch built in, but that would solve your problem. Just make sure the bumper itself doesn't extend out too far and take the winch off when you are not using it.

CBI Offroad has a receiver that will take a winch cradle. That way you can have a front and rear winch and keep the winch inside for protection or at home when in town to save on weight. I have no experience with CBI but lots of people here speak highly of them.

I've had a Trans4mer on a previous vehicle. Great set up which comes highly recommended from me.
It does however add length about equal to the size of the winch. Depending on how close you're cutting it in the garage.

NetDep looking forward to seeing your rig @ the PNW rally. You may want to wait to purchase anything until you see all the different set ups at the rally.
