Not too much really.
Some of the SP and NP are more "remote" than others. Big Bend State Park comes to mind (and my favorite)
For camping, I have begun to enjoy some of the off road parks more. Such as Barnwell in Gilmer, TX. You can get way back there by yourself on the 1600 acres. Lots of campsites located way back on the trails.
