Questions about 80 Series Diff Locks

I'm looking at buying an 80 series Landcruiser.

I've heard that some of them came from the factory with front and rear diff locks, in addition to the standard center diff lock.

How do I recognize this feature?

Was it only available on certain trim levels?

Was it available on the Lexus LX450's as well?

Was it a good option? Is it worth holding out for a vehicle with this factory option, or is it no big deal? Can I easily add aftermarket mods to address the front/rear diff lock issue?

Yes factory lockers were a $4k option and are worth getting if you are going to offroad it.

Yes factory lockers were a $4k option and are worth getting if you are going to offroad it.

Ironically it was only a $850 option at the time the trucks were new. Probably the only option package ever offered on a vehicle that becomes more valuable with age.

Switch to the left of the steering wheel, but check the differentials for actuators. It has happened that people stick the switch in to fool people.

1993 to 1997 available with any trim level (some exceptions for 1993/1994 with semi float axles. Pretty rare)
