questions about an Fj62 with an L83 v8

Looking for some help here:
I have a potential offer to swap my 80 series for a FJ62 with a L83 v8.
I have always wanted one of these.
I want to know what I am getting into.
The L83 for the swap was not brand new when put in. The engine rebuilt/resealed L83, w/ a Texas Speed AFM/DOD delete kit, new camshaft, lifters, and lifter trays. The work was done by a shop called the desert toy shop in AZ.
Does anybody have any experience with or know much about this sort of engine work?
Thanks

The LS family is about as dead simple of an engine there is. 5.3 is damn near indestructible at stock power levels, and VERY common. What they have done is also VERY common.

Thanks for the help, I should have been more clear in my initial posting.
The part that I don't know about is the Texas Speed AFM/DOD delete kit.
Do you have any knowledge of using that kit?

Yes, and I was speaking in regards to it all. I've done many, and it's a very simple and straightforward job. Texas Speed uses quality GM CTSV lifters, GM trays, etc etc. It's all done using GM parts. You are simply getting rid of the parts that have a higher potential failure rate, and simplifying the engine.
