Try wetting an old wash cloth, roll it up like a cigar, and then freeze it over night. Let the pup chew on it until it starts to thaw and/or it starts to tear threads out of the cloth. Lou is going through some serious teething right now and you can see the relief on his face when he's gnawing on the frozen wash cloth. He really seems to like cow hooves to work over and LOVES ice cubes.

We've got three kongs bouncing around the house but I never thought of freezing one. We'll have to give that try.

Dave,
good idea on the cloth. never thought about that. one thing about the ice cubes that my Vet mentioned to me is that you want to be careful about giving them the cubes all the time as there teeth are still developing. Not sure if this is REALLY an issue but something she mentioned.

Super Doody,
don't freak out if you start seeing little teeth everywhere. Noah would wrestle with me and I would find his teeth caught in my clothes.

Thanks for the advice guys. We have three different shaped kongs. We also tried frozen carrots. Which was cheap but she went through it too fast and made her front legs red. Hoofs are good and last a super long time but they're really really smell. Booth of our dogs love bully sticks so i ordered a box of 50 online for like $45 since they around $7 to $8 per stick in stores. MMmm bull penis :eatchicke

She already lost her chewing teeth but she just lost her lower K9 two nights ago.

Also try stuffing wet food into the kong. Abby gets her breakfest and lunch like that.

Another Black Lab (mix)

Meet Winslow age 13 - We call her Winnie and she was hatched in our house.
You can hardly tell that she had part of her lower jaw removed - it was the chin from canine to canine - Nasty tumor.... She can still catch the Frisbee like a Pro

I see that the general trend over there is to use leads all the time.
Do you guys have strict laws over there or do you just have naughty dogs?
I never used a lead on my dogs. Even when crossing roads etc.

where I am there are strict leash laws. you get a ticket if you don't have him/her on a leash. Also, I live near a busy road so I want him on a leash for his safety. when I go to the Cape for vacation or when we go hiking, he is never on a leash. he stays within 15 feet of me at all times and if I am not within eye sight he runs back to find me. If I sense that there are people around who might be a bit uncomfortable with a dog, then I put him back on the leash.
