Oh wow, are these the railroad tracks that run along the east side of Nevada's Black Rock Desert?

No, they are the tracks that lead past the Newfoundland Mountains in Northern Utah.

Totally cool place. Incredibly desolate. Only road is that narrow track that parallels the railroad straight as an arrow for MILES. I was leading our group at that point and driving into the setting sun with copious amounts of dust in the air gave a strange yellow/green tint to the sky. You start to zone out a little because it's so straight and even at 50+mph we followed that track for a good hour. However, when a train rockets past you only a few feet away in the opposite direction it definitely jolts you back "into the moment".
