Well now you have an excuse to come back to New Mexico. :bike_rider:
I haven't been there in years but I remember going up north of Albuquerque in the mountains a few times and it was awesome...trout deer etc...just awesome. Seemed like it wasn't that far....am I remembering right? it was when I was in my late 20's and now I'm in my 60's....sniff, sigh......:sombrero:

The Jemez Mtns are only about 45 minutes north from ABQ. There are deer, elk and trout there. I don't go up there too often though because it seems that's where the crowds go. If you like seclusion like I do, then the southern San Juan's and Sangre de Cristo's are less than 3 hours north from town. Higher peaks and more beautiful scenery in these ranges.

Spent alot of time in the San Juan's and Sangre de Cristo's ........ Man I love Oregon but I remember how truly beautiful and rugged it was there.....I would recommend them to anyone. easterners were always so awestruck like it wasn't real..:coffeedrink:

yeah right now I just miss the west. yeah, they have some cool stuff out here on the eastern side of the US but I have and always will be a nor cal, pac NW guy.
NM had some merrits to as we drove through but we missed a lot being in a hurry. I would also love to explore some areas in AZ and UT.

Thanks. I wish the scene was better but it was convenient right behind our campsite so I used what was there to practice.

Thanks John.

I am envious of my friends that have retired and have the time to travel. About 5 more years for me. :(

In the mean time I'll look for opportunities to visit areas I haven't seen yet in the SW like Canyonlands and work on my capturing skills. :sombrero:
