Range Rover values

Hey guys, there's a '92 range rover for sale at my local used car place. It's been there quite some time. I was wondering if it would be a good vehicle to buy and then sell (aka "flip")? I'm not looking to scam or make a million bucks, just make a few bucks. Heck, I'd even point it out to you rover guys. Just thought it's kind of a waste to see it sit there for so long. What kind of price is reasonable?
I'm in Northern michigan

Michigan? How much rust is on it? Maintenance records? Mileage? A decently running trail rig can be had for $750 - 1500. A decently running daily driver can be had for $1200 - $3000.

Thanks for the replies! The biggest problem will be market. Obviously, no one in town is interested, so I would have to go to a wider market to sell. (like here!)

I don't know the condition-rust etc..-or the price. I was just trying to get a feel for the price/market for them.

Classics are one of those trucks that either you love or hate. If you love them, you accept that there will be constant challenges and maintenance. Personally, I drove one for 15 years and recently purchased another.
My daily is a NAS 110, but I purchased the Classic to keep the mileage down on the 110.

Here is an example of one this past week that brought a super price (remember ... this was a 1995- most desirable, it is white- most desirable, and immaculate!)

Check out what this truck went for!!!!

However, I recently bought the identical truck (125K miles) for $1500 because the guy thought the transmission was blown. Filled transmission with fluid, and everything has been great since.

There are those that love the older (larger gas fill door) version.

Before purchasing, check:

All Electronics (seats, windows, lights, radio, sun roof, etc.) as these things are not inexpensive to fix.

Sagging Headliner- a repair that runs $600- $1200 depending on the shop

Rust on rear lift gate, rear cargo floor, interior fender slope inside passenger doors, firewall. All expensive repairs!

Any warning lights on the dash. ALL expensive to correct.

Cats on exhaust. Very expensive.

That is all.

The 95's will always bring a premium. I just sold my 95 LWB for about $8K with 90K miles on it. An identical 94 gets about $3500.
Long term, I think the RR Classic will be a sought-after collector car. Small parts can be hard to come by, but mechanical parts are easy and relatively cheap - just avoid the generic garbage flooding the market.
The general rule is to buy the nicest one you can. Fixing them is always more expensive than just buying a nicer one.

anyone who knows anything about older RRs would run from a MI Rover.

they are really destroyed by salt and MI loves to throw the stuff on the roads.

and imho, the '94s are better than the '95s as it the last year that the true Classic dash was used.

Well, the new dashboard in the 95 is the reason they pull double the price. People like the Disco dash much better and speak with their wallets.

You can have my 1995 LWB for 3k and you can "flip it" for 3k after sitting on it for a while.

Seriously, the only rovers to "flip" are defenders. I do this, but I consider of it more of a service to the rover community more than making any money.

I know!! If I had known how those vehicles would double in value, I'd have bought a couple of them!!:Wow1:

Tell me about it. Got $17K on trade-in for a 110 in late '94. Nobody wanted them back then. :yikes:

I looked at it and talked to the owner of the place. $1400, but "I'm tired of looking at it."
The motor and tranny run great! the body is OK.
If anyone is interested, I can get the phone number for you.
