RB1: Differences in Model Numbers

Does anyone know the difference between model numbers? For example what makes a model ending in AI so much different than an AE, besides the fact that it is newer? If I just use the newest Nav CD will everything be the same?

That is a good site. I have read that web page top to bottom several times. The one thing I know that is inaccurate about that site is the Mopare Ipod integration desclaimer. To my knowledge the Mopar kit works with any of the RB1 models from the threads I have read.

From what I have been able to find it looks like the main difference is being able to run Sirius and Ipod at the same time only works well on the AI units. Everything else seems the same.

You are correct. I run both the Mopar iPod and the RB1. Works great!

TheMike,

Do you happen to know the model number of you RB1?

Also, are you using the latest DVD (AF)? They are running around $190 and wondered if they are worth it.

I have the 82208715AH RB1. At the time it was the lates production model (2/07). Yes, I am also running the AF DVD and to be honest I don't know of anything different between the older and newest DVD's. There has to be some mapping changes but I haven't seen any "software" changes in the lastest release.

As far as worth the $199...each to their own. I like having the most up to date DVD but that's just me. I might be willing to let the AE version go for the right price :)
