Rear ac unit in g320

has anyone added a rear ac unit for the second row passengers / third row? I have looked at conversion vans with the rear ac unit located at the rear wheel well area, looks like they tied into the high/ low lines etc. Can it be done? I have one in my landcruiser, and seen them in my friends disco's. Anyone contemplate?

I'm a HVAC technician and would advise against it unless you are a refrigeration engineer. The compressor doesn't have the capacity for all that cooling and having 2 evaporators you may run into issues of oil not returning to the compressor and charging it properly.

And if you are thinking of putting in a bigger compressor you are going to need a condenser to match that so it may not be worth it for just a bit more cooling.

thanks, for the heads up. I just want my rear passengers cold as much as the front passengers. It can get pretty uncomfortable here in florida, especially carrying 7 smelly soccer playing boys from practice.
