Here's a PDF of the accessory socket wiring. You can see the wire I'm talking about running from the interior fuse box to the external fuse box.

Flipped the fuse box open and found the wire. Going to splice it today and see what happens. Thanks for the help.

Update with more questions

Resurrected!

I have been good with the fuse box wiring mod for a while (occasionally when the Disco is not powered on, the fridge errors, but I'm not overly concerned as I assume this is a combo of low gauge wiring and a cheap fridge. However, it's time to do the full wiring upgrade with the West Marine stuff listed in pages past.

So I pulled out the sleeping platform/drawers and am getting ready for the permanent fix. I'm wiring 4 awg from the battery to the posts I'm installing inside of the box:

Also attached to these posts will be a power inverter (2 plugs and 2 USB ~ 400w) and the West Marine Panel:

I'm still trying to decide where to install my new MV50 air compressor (yes future mods had to be bought early to kill all birds at once) - maybe the hood, if I can find room, or somewhere in the box - and if so, that too will go direct to the terminals.

As for the West Marine Panel and it's 4 fuses, I am going to wire up the top 3 (the bottom are the cigarette plugs that I will use for the fridge and charging stuff) for future roof rack lights (why not use the existing switches for something useful? Also, I took advantage of the marine labels (nav light, spreader light, and anchor light) to almost be correct (the first two will each power two front facing Hellas while the anchor will power two rear facing Hellas. However now with all of these purchases, a roof rack has been pushed off to 2014 - just wiring these up while I have the box out.

NOW the issue. This whole idea has been using the assumption that my 4awg would fit through the rear seat mounting holes (I removed the seats). Sadly the wires are BARELY too wide. So now the question becomes (as mentioned previously as the hard part), how do I run these thick wires. I'm very tempted to drill a hole very close to the seat mounts, through the body, and then run them directly along the rails up front to the battery.

I figure if I drill the hole close enough to the 4awg, it should be pretty sealed, and I could add some caulk/filler.

The last permanent drilling I did was for a Congo Rack on my TJ and while scary, it went smoothly. Should I go for permanent holes knowing that they could be hidden (and sealed) with seats before I ever sell her (not anytime soon)?

Thanks again!

PS - I hate the text spacing on this forum...hard to read my various thoughts as it all smashes together. Any way to fix this to have defined paragraphs? Sorry for the blog...
