rear power point wiring?

Where is everyone taking power from for their rear power points? I am getting a thermoelectric cooler for the back of my jeep and want some power back there. Thanks.

What kind of power are you looking for? I used Harbor Freight jumper 4 ga. cables to make a fused line from the battery with a solenoid powered through an "ignition-on" wire (I'm using a line off my radio with an inline switch as a back-up). But, then again, I am using this to charge trailer house batteries =.

I am looking for 12v power to plug my thermoelectric cooler into....Is there a power point in the rear now?

I ran a 10 gauge wire straight from the battery back to a double hella port I added. Had no voltage drop.

The power outlet in the subwoofer assembly is absolute crap; do not use it for anything drawing more than an amp. You will need to run a wire back from the battery. I ran 8ga back to the rear with a 4" run of 10ga for the fuse before the load (12v socket). The tie down screws are decent grounds.

I added a Painless fuse block next to the battery to power lights, fridge, cb, etc. I routed the wiring through the firewall then along the side of the body inside the vehicle.

I did the same with a Blue Sea fuse box.

I took my carpets out 6 months ago. I used the firewall penetration on the passenger side (behind plastic cover on side of dash hidden by door when shut - I'll post a pic later) and then ran the wire under the plastic fascia/panels that hide the OEM wire bundles. Once the plastic ends I started using zip ties to keep the new wire following the OEM wire bundle into the cargo area. Do not run the wires loosely under your carpets; it is a recipe for disaster due to sheathing wear from passenger egress/ingress and cargo movement

yes, I agree. That's why I asked. I used that pass through for my cb power wire. Ok, after I get back from our weekend trip, I am going to run to wally world and get a kit of 8ga wire.
