My aisle is on the side just like the benches, but most I have seen the aisle in the middle. I like the side aisle as the guy sitting in the second row doesn't have to get out to let others in or out. But they have to weave through the seatbelts.

Awesome. Do the captain chairs swivel too? Just as easy to remove as the benches?

I was thinking of a very similar setup if at all possible

No swivels :(

They are Flexsteel brand seats, with some big crazy stout pedestals and brackets, so they are not light but pretty simple to pull out and the brackets are pretty flat (flatter than the stock bench brackets) so they aren't toe breakers. I can pull all the buckets and put in the cooler and gear in 10 minutes to be ready to weekend it.

Some bracket holes line up with factory holes, some have DIY plates.

Any idea how DIY plates end up doing in accidents? I look at all these conversion vans and just wonder if the chairs would yank right up out of the floor pan. or maybe there are some either stock or DIY reinforced areas underneath that they tap into?

the stock plates are really not much to write home about. simple piece of steel that spreads the load around a little bit.
