So, last fall I had to replace my rear shocks as the old ones were toast. I called my somewhat local Toyota 4X4 shop, told them what I had (which is a 98 Tacoma, with and add-a-leaf) giving about a 2" lift, and I ordered some Bilstein 5125s. They figured on the 10 inch shocks. I installed them, but when the truck was sitting on flat ground, there was only a couple inches of shaft sticking out of the shock housing. I figured that the shock would bottom out before the spring ever hit the bump stop. So I got them to send up some 8 inch shocks. The now I have enough compression travel, but when I lift the truck up, there isn't enough stroke, and the axle hangs on the shocks. Now before I waste more dough on ordering and shipping the wrong shocks again, what would you guys recommend for the right shock? I should also mention that I want to replace the spring pack with the Old Man Emu 2.25" this summer.
Thanx in advance
