Reasonable priced sleeping bag for tall people

So I have committed to my 7 year old that this is the summer for camping and I kinda need a new fart sack. I am planning a few local weekender trips and what is starting to look like a week long trip thru the upper peninsula of michigan - all trips will be ground tent. I don't need a cold weather bag, but a decent 3 season bag that doesn't cost so much I need to sleep in it for a year to make the cost justified. I am having a hard time finding anything to fit me - I am 6'6" about 250 lbs. I wear a 48xl suit jacket, a 18/18.5 x 36/37 dress shirt. Either they are big enough for shoulders by only come just past my belly button or long enough but would never get around the shoulders.

I would be interested in perhaps getting 2 so that I could have a pair of bags that zip together for the trips where the wife will be joining. Any suggestions?

While I'm not quite as tall as you are (I'm only 6'4"), the rest of my measurements are pretty dang close (same shirt, 245, but 54tall jacket).

I ended up with a Gander Mountain Rifle River bag that I fit quite comfortably in. The site says it works for 7 footers, but I'd question that, as I would guess I only have 4 inches of room left when stretched out (though I do wear size 16, so my feet may be part of the equation).

Regardless - I'd recommend checking them out.

The Rifle River is a good bag, I bought one last year. Actually got it on sale for well under $100 so for me it was a real bargain. Big and roomy but not very light, great for car camping, not so much if you are carrying it very far. Also have a a cheap Columbia Elk Meadows 0º bag that while cheap. and warm is less comforting when you wake at 3 am after a six pack about to piss yourself and the zipper is hung.

Big Agnes Encampnent 15 long left wide !!! I'm 6'4" 255-260 very broad on shoulders and side sleeper , this bag does the trick!!! Happiest I have ever been in a bag !!!!

LOL, fart sack!
I'm a big guy, 6'-7" and +300 lbs. I bought 5 or 6 sleeping bags from Cabela's, had them all shipped to my house, laid them out and tried each one for a a bit, and found that the one I liked the best was a Cabela's own brand bag. Happened to be the most expensive of the bunch, but it was well made, warm, comfortable, all down, and packs very small. Smartest purchase I've made in a while.

On the other end of the spectrum, I did see this recently:

We've had a pair of 20* North Face Dolomite rectangular long bags for 5-6 years that have held up pretty well. I'm a couple of inches shorter but , other than that, about your size. These can be doubled up and are priced around $110 each for the long. 14* is the coldest we've tried; definitely wouldn't want to go any colder with these.

What Nwoods said - try as many as you can. Many stores (REI, Cabelas, EMS) allow easy returns, some even if you have used it. Side by side comparison is great, but not as great as a test night. I'm 6'4" and went with a Sierra Designs Backcountry Bed - SD offers 2-season, 3-season, down and synthetic. This bag has offered the most room, function and flexibility of any bag I've owned. For me, at 2-6 nights per month the DriDown was worth the extra cost.
