Recommendation for a Refrigerator?

Howdy all, I'm looking for your recommendation on a refrigerator to replace the Ice Box in my Camper. I put the ice box in to replace an old Dometic 2301 LP / 110 AC refrigerator that the cooling pack rotted away after 19 years. But now after 1 year of use, I'm sick of running to get ice every day to keep the food in my ice box cold. I've looked at Dometic, they make the 2351 and 2354 as drop in replacements, Norcold makes the N300 and N300.3 drop in units also. Biggest thing is it has to be cabinet mounted and open from the side, not the top. Any other ideas before I call up and order another Dometic or Norcold?

Check out Nova Kool. It uses a danfoss compressor so is very efficient. The price I got mine for was reasonable compared to a Norcold. Sorry I don't have the link on this computer to where I got mine. I 'll look when I get back home. - Brad

Thanks for the info. I've gone with the norcold N300 2 way, mostly because I can get it for less than $700 including shipping, and will be adding a auto igniter for road travel so that the fridge keeps running. I'll be looking at the Nova Kool for my next camper which I'm building myself from the Popular Mechanics 1955 Encyclopedia set.

If you have some $$$, look into Sunfrost. Super efficient, works on 12 VDC and is marine rated. A favorite among the alternative energy crowd.
