Hey red what branch were you in? I'm AF EOD just got stationed back down here at eglin. Digging in truck. Definitely turn some heads driving that around

I was AF as well, stationed at Hill but I spent most my time on the demolition range up there when not deployed.

Eglin is a good time, great place to be single hahahaha.

Made some progress on the winch mount for the bed

Thanks.

Did a test fit and found that the bed will need to be moved back about 2-3 inches for clearance.

Spent the weekend organizing the parking area and getting the bed removed.

After these mods it will be installed and removed by the winch and a roller mounted to the rear of the frame.

I used a crane from a service truck this time to remove it. Weighs 2,000 pounds. 8ft wide by 12 feet long.

Mount for the bed winch is built, will be painted tomorrow and bolted on Friday or this weekend.

Are you going to move the bumperets back as well? Or will you just leave the bed overhanging?

You said prev that you were going to winch the shelter in and out, are you planning to drop it to the ground or build a frame to slide it onto? Seems like the ground (4'+) would be a crazy drop to lift from.

Haven't decided on the bumperets yet. Need to design the bed roller and the spare tire carrier first.

The shelter has a sub frame already, will get a good look at it tonight. The drop will be about the same as what our oil rig moving trucks have.
