I just picked up one of these for the FJ62. Now my 60CSx will be living permanently in the Tacoma! No more switching back and forth.

I like the Nuvi 500 so far.

What is does well:
Takes the state specific 24k topo microsd cards (no more loading maps!)

I picked one up, too. Like it so far.

What he's referring to is the quality of the topo maps resident in the Nuvi isn't that high. To get something like 1:24,000 USGS maps you need added memory cards.

Thinking about picking one up to see if they're worth it for the rest of the SW USA. There are also some after-market ones made for Baja (one focusing on roads, the other on topo). I can't vouch for any, though, since I haven't purchased any yet.
