Reliability of newer Dodge Ram HD's

I am impressed by my 2012 Ram 2500. The fit and finish has come a long way and the ride is great for an 8000lb beast. For someone on a tighter budget I would suggest finding a good condition 5.9L Cummins and go that route. Those trucks seem to need less in aftermarket parts to be "right". That is my only annoyance with my truck. It needed $1000 in tuner, exhaust, deletes, etc. to run like a stock 5.9L.
