Removing bulkhead/enlarging pass through on box van

Anyone ever done this? I have a small pass through right now with a bump out for the driver seat, but the passenger seat is all but unusable due to the bulkhead wall. I'd also prefer to remove it to allow for swivel seats, etc.

The cab has around a 1.5" flange that mates to the Box wall with several rivets. If I were to cut out the entire wall (driver and passenger sides), following the flange with an addition 1-1.5" of box wall left inside the flange, would there be any structural issues to be concerned about? Would I need to put in a frame around the new cut out?

Really wanting to remove this wall as it will greatly expand our living space and comfort, just trying to understand what I'm getting into before hacking away.

I only removed a partition in my regular Savana it was in with a combination of bolts and rivets.

I don’t think it would be hard or any structural.

Every Class C RV ever made has no rear cab wall. They are plenty strong. I say cut away!

I called and talked with Supreme Mfg. about this. Make the cut out about 3" smaller from the center of the thru/cab bolts. No additional support is necessary, the support from the cab is sufficient. You can find the edge molding on eBay or amazon. Good luck!

Crestline Ambulance doesn’t leave anything past the flange on their builds.

I’d say the ambo box has a lot more rigidity and strength than a box truck box..! Like 100x?! Probably need to leave some flange to support the cab to box connection and bolts when the structure isn’t as robust.
