Replace Rear-Window Glass with Non-Transparent Material? Legal or Not?

I know some vehicles like vans come from the factory without rear windows, but does anyone know of any state laws regarding replacing the rear glass with metal or fiberglass?

You would be fine. Windshield and front windows are required. I also believe if you don't have a rear window you need driver and passenger rear view mirrors.

The above statement is true in ARKANSAS. You must have two functional mirrors, so if you block the rear view, you must have a passenger side mirror.

CA says mirrors on both sides if no back window / visibility. Pretty sure rest of the States is the same.

The Commonwealth of Virginia allows for blocking Windows aft of the front doors if you have mirrors on both sides as well.
