Residential Parking Restrictions for Expedition Vehicle

Unfortunately, there is no RV classification in California. You either have a commercial vehicle or not. The 84 ambulance I have right now is registered as a private vehicle. I am thinking of finding something and registering out of state due to all of the red tape I have to deal with in registering a vehicle here in CA.

I lived in my van (15 pass. Ext.)for 8 months in the bay area. Here are some things that i learned. Register it in ca. Any other state will stick out. Join a gym for showering. Move at least once a week. Do not park in bad areas it will catch up to you.
It is very difficult to park in SF for any lenght of time. I worked in SF,Emeryville Fremont, San Mateo. Emeryville was the easist lots of business parks and gyms. Emeryville was also the only place I was approached by police. They asked me some questions, asked if they could take a look inside and left me only. I stayed in that spot on and off for 2 months. My van is clean inside and out i think that helped.

Good Luck!
