Question: Has anyone used these retro fit LED bulbs for their trailer trail lights. Looks like an inexpensive way to get LED lights with your current tail lights.

If you have used them what do you think?

Thanks,

Ray

I've used these, but not on a trailer. Honestly, it would be cheaper to just buy the whole LED trailer assembly, unless you have a unique housing that you want to use.

Adventurer, eh?
I use the ones (the regular, not the V3) in my Xterra and they work great. They're from VLED. I've been wanting to upgrade the tail lights on the trailer to then but I haven't gotten to it yet.

I agree with Verkstad. Replacing incandescent bulbs with LEDs is not a direct replacement. I spend a lot of time on CandlePower forum in their automotive lighting. They have very strict policies about post concerning legitimate LED automotive upgrades. They rely solely on scientific testing data not perceived performance. The experts their all agree if you are going to be replacing incandescents with LEDs then Sylvania or Phillips bulbs are the only valid solution. If you are building a new trailer or replacing the whole assembly then use engineered lighting from Grote or Truck-Lite.

USE the same color LED as the lens color. Here is a sampling of the correct LEDs to use. While they are not optimum they are properly designed to work with your housings. Those stove pipe type LEDs are toys and junk.
