Retro TJR

Always loving the Retro Look.... and equally loving the increased mileage/range of light, skinny pizza cutters, today was narrow the TJR body 3 inches.

First mark the cut with 1.5" tape.... then cut.

Tuck the cut part under, screw together with Tek Screws.... and done.

This is the goal..... kinda Retro.

Pizza Cutters Rule
I might lift this TJR 2" to fit the trailer better.
It needs new shocks anyway so a 2" lift seems right.

Those were the Rubicon-specific flares, too, wider than standard TJ flares. You could have sold them for a respectable price.

im guessing you couldnt go "over" with the flares? Like the pizza cutters.
The flares have a taper which lets them slide under with a perfect fit.
I did the same to my AEV flares years ago, they don't have a taper so they butt up perfectly.

Definitely a big fan of the retro skinny tire look. I just wish they made a 35" skinny tire.

You get better ride, gas mileage and range with the lighter 31s. and no need to regear plus these cut your tire costs in half costing less and going 30% farther. I never got more than 45K miles out of LT Flotation Tires. These are already past 45K miles.

These added 95 miles to my range over the 33x10.50 KO2s I had.

But there are these....

ps, Tire Size Calculator is an amazing tool.
Key in the size you want and it shows everything.
