I have been searching for a lighting solution for my OzTent and found out that Rhino Rack has LED lighting kits.

I recieved my kit last night and have to do some testing. Initial impressions of the kit is that it appears to be well thought out. All of the connections are water resistant/proof. I will have to get some pictures of it when I get home.

The documentation that came with the Foxwing kit stated 342 lumen for the 12" lights.

Pics of the Lights in action

I tested the lights. Since my Oz Tent basically has two areas, I intend on hanging one light under the canopy and one light in the sleeping area. When I ordered the lights I ordered a three way splitter as well as an additional switch so each of the lights can be operated independently.

I discovered that the light strips have magnets on them, so their uses are increased.

Travis,

I haven't actually used them in the field yet, they will get some use at EXPO West in two weeks. I will post a follow-up after my EXPO trip.

After using this light set at Overland Expo 2015 (West) in the rain, snow and mud, and for 4 days in Parashant National Monument I can safetly say that they are fantastic. The 12" bars put out significant light inside the tent as well as under the awning on my OzTent. OzTent produces a similar version that is also magnetic but 30" in length.

If you are looking for an easy to use light set for your setup, you cannot go wrong with these lights. I particularly like the dimmers. I will have to check my pictures to see if I have some of the light that it puts out. More to follow.

While I cannot find pictures of the lights themselves in action I found one that shows the light output in the tent.

The pic was taken at about 8 or 9 P.M. The light is attached to the top bar of the tent just above the door and shows that the 12" light puts out plenty of light.

I would recommend the 24" light for awnings with a dimmer. These lights are excellent quality and extremely versatile and would work good in most applications.
