I was aware of them but for discussion that's a good point. In my case I have a used yakima ski rack that I bought for $40. I'm going to fab some brackets so I can just bolt it on. The biggest cost will be the nuts and bolts at that point.

For those in Canada you dont need Mcmaster Carr. Any electrical supply house or most big box stores carry uni strut and its accessories. Worst case scenario gets some 1/4" steel bar stock in the proper width and drill and tap for what ever bolt size you need.

Thanks for the info! I started looking at the uni strut nut after seeing this and decided they were too expensive for what they are so I just went and got some 1/4 x 3/4 6061-t4 aluminum and a stick of steel flat stock and made my own. That way I can thread them to whatever size bolt I need too. Cost like 12 bucks in metal for it. Made a few for the accessories I wanted to mount and spaced them out in my Aero bars.
