Yaks all done being painted. I don't know how well it will hold up but the guy I bought them from already kinda painted them so I had to.

Thats exactly what I plan on using them for soon. I have some camo mesh and some grass skirts to out fit them for duck season.

what length trailer ? looks like its put in on top ? was the kayak part made by you or bought ?
going to be looking for a kayak trailer soon and would not mind a base cargo kinda trailer like that

keep thinking I could get away with a 10 foot ? longest boat is going to be 16

Its a 5x8 big tex trailer ( highly recommend) i built the kayak rack. It's bolted to the trailer deck and easily removable. I use the trailer for everything from hauling wood, moving furniture, to hauling atvs and kayaks. I was going to lift it soon and start using it for backwoods camping also but I came across a steal of a deal on a M416 yesterday. It will be my new camp trailer. I look forward to the build soon.

Honu, I carry boats that range from 9ft up to 14ft and have never had any issues. A 10ft trailer would be fine for a 16ft boat.

After this trip last week, I learned that a rack is a must for my kayak. I've only had the Jeep ~3mo. I got the Yakima towers, now just trying to find bars long/wide enough for the Jeep and 2 kayaks.

The boat is a 9' Old Town Otter. I've had it 12 yrs and it's been all over the U.S. with me. But I am actually planning to upgrade this summer to a Wilderness Systems Pungo 120. I'm pretty stoked about it.
