Steve Bennion at Rockslide engineering in Utah has designed a new motorized step for full sized vans. You can see the prototype here :

The final product has a larger motor which deploys the step much faster. Unlike other products out there, these things are tied into the bottom seam and frame of the van which results in a true slider. Cost will be $2400 to $3000. They are ready to go into production, but before doing so the manufacturer wants to see if there is enough interest out there in this type of product. I really want to purchase a pair for my van but can't because there are only 2 other people who want to purchase them right now. There needs to be a total of 5 buyers before Steve will place the order for the parts and begin production, after which he says he can have them assembled in a couple of weeks. If this looks like something you would be interested in, please feel free to contact me with any questions and I will try to answer them. If you feel that you are ready to purchase a pair, also let me know as I am trying to compile a list of 5 buyers to present to Steve. I am not affiliated with Rockslide Engineering in any way and do not stand to profit from any sales of these products other than wanting to purchase a pair for myself as I feel these are the ideal solution for getting in and out of my van and protecting the sides from rocks on narrow trails.
Thanks,
Bill S.
