I'm looking to put a roof rack on my 04 sport Kj. I have the side rails but no cross bars. Also was wondering if I put a roof rack on can I also put a roof tent on?

Yes you can put a tent on, but check the load weight of the rack and the roof rails load first though.....dynamic and static.
There a number racks that will fit the KJs roof rails....take a look at the Garvin Wilderness and Expedition series racks, and check out Suurco as well....good quality racks with loads of add ons available for storage of spare tires, tools, hi-lift, etc etc etc.

Thule or Yakima crossbars will mount securely to the factory roof rails and you can put whatever you want on them -- including RTTs.
